The Putney School is a boarding and day college preparatory school located in Putney, Vermont. At Putney, students learn to be active participants in their own education and community they create through student involvement. Students play a role in everything from the Board of Trustees, to the school council, and other student-run work (farm to kitchen, etc.). Putney believes that outdoor experiential education is just as important as in class education. Classrooms are student-centered and are dependent on project-based learning so students can reach their full potential. The afternoon activities program offers a variety of ways for students to be active, as all students are required to participate in afternoon activities (team sports, recreational sports, afternoon campus work) for a minimum of four afternoons a week.
