Shady Side Academy is a nationally recognized private school in Pittsburgh for boys and girls in grades Pre-K-12, with an optional boarding experience in high school. Four age-specific campuses with extraordinary resources, teachers who actively mentor, a forward-thinking curriculum, a diverse and inclusive community, and a legacy of alumni accomplishments all inspire Shady Side students to high achievement in academics, the arts and athletics, and to meaningful ambitions in life. Students have opportunity to take part in specialized independent studies and a final senior project, which students choose based on topics they're passionate about. The SSA Farm program is a sustainability initiative where students are encouraged to learn how to grow and provide food, which is then sold to a local Farmer's Market or used by the cafeteria.
