Saint James school was founded in 1842 as a coeducational, Episcopal school. Campus spans 100 acres and is surrounded by another 700 acres of farmland and is located 5 miles away from Hagerstown, Maryland and 70 miles from Baltimore, Maryland and the nation's capital of Washington, D.C.. Saint James features a FAB Lab, which is an initiative of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) conceived to be an entrepreneurial center where anyone can take ideas and turn it into a prototype or product. While not in class, boarding students can hang out in the common room to unwind from classes, or attend school-sponsored study hours which take place 5 days a week or travel for a weekend excursion.
